Themoviedownloads.com is a file sharing application that lets subscribers download all sorts of visual and audio media – movies, TV shows, music videos, etc. – from other members’ hard drives. Because uploading is generally slower than downloading, the file a single user downloads is actually sourced from multiple donors, so a rapid download is available for the large files that typically make up a movie.
The client wanted us to create a stylish, attractive site to act as a platform for the service. As well as being searchable enough to attract new customers, it also had to have a private members area, downloads for the various pieces of software, merchant services and an instructional video.

The Challenges The method of sharing the files between members was not our responsibility; we simply had to design the website and implement all the commercial and technical parts seamlessly. Potential problems could have been in achieving consistency between the client’s coding and our own, where conflicts could have caused crashes or failure to download, but we worked very closely with the client to make sure everything ran smoothly. |

The Solution We integrated a Flash presentation into an HTML site and filled all the visuals with movie-related imagery and sounds. The systems to download the software were put in place behind the members’ section entrance and to allow memberships to be bought we integrated Clickbank processing and fulfillment systems. A search function was also added to allow people to find any listed piece of media without having to use the menus. |

The Results The Movie Downloads soon became a fully-functioning and highly popular site, directing people to tens of millions of media files and software. The site’s popularity over its competitors is no doubt down to Koves’ attention to usability and the swiftness with which assistance and subscriptions can be found. |
