Sperm Donor Web is linked to Fertility Cryobank, LLC, whose enterprise application and website Koves and Automedica worked on. The aim of the site is to give information on becoming a sperm donor and to pass interested men on to the main website.
As far as search engine visibility was concerned, the website was not standing out among its competition, with only 5% of targeted keywords appearing in the top 100 results in Google – at least ten unlikely clicks from the front page. The client asked us to optimize the site and set up a PPC campaign to make it more worthwhile.

The Challenges
The faults that were holding the site back formed a long list after our experts had analyzed the site’s structure, content and visibility. Meta tags, site maps and robots.txt missing, poor keyword inclusion, unoptimized title tags, duplicate pages and broken links all added up to an obscuring cloud between the site, and potential visitors and customers. A lack of back-links and no PPC campaign did not help matters.

The Solution
Most of the work Koves performed on this site was in turning around the problems listed above. We were confident that with correct optimization, fixed coding and some paid-for and organic back-links, there was no reason why this site could not stand proud amongst its competition.

The Results
Our work started bearing fruit as soon as the PPC campaign had been researched and set in motion. Over the following months our monitoring showed a steady increase in results as the organic results caught up. By the end of this monitoring period, half the target competitive keywords had top 10 Google rankings (up from 5%) and this figure was 80% in Yahoo! and MSN. Clicks through to the “Contact us” page rose sixfold. But the crowning achievement was a #1 Google rank for the term “sperm donation”, clearly a highly sought-after phrase with much competition.
