Where There’s Air, There’s Internet – Breathe It In
A decade ago, the internet was slow, expensive, immobile … and full of potential. As time has passed, those potentials have been – and will continue to be – transformed into realities. Just as important as the thrust from 56K to broadband has been the leap from desk to pocket, as cell phone networks have learned to transmit usable data to and from hand-held devices. However, delivering the internet and its many applications to such devices is not without its challenges.
Resolution Resolutions
Although many mobile devices claim to be able to display websites pixel-for-pixel, it’s often not such a pleasure to browse when you must contend, with scrolling, magnifying and jerky movement. The fact is that a mobile device with a screen with tens of thousands of pixels will never be able to display a page designed for screens with close to a million. Koves can make mobile applications and web pages that display beautifully simply by designing them specifically for mobile devices – an art in itself!
Wireless Limitations
There’s no doubt that Moore’s Law (that computing power doubles every 18 months) applies just as much to mobile devices as to other types of computer. But whatever happens, they will necessarily be physically smaller, and this will always mean less powerful in three areas: battery life, processing power and memory. While it’s probably true that any modern smartphone could handle a 1999 website with ease, an internet designed around the average desktop and notebook is usually not ideal for mobile technologies.
We Understand the Needs of Mobile Technology
When we design any mobile system or website, we take all these “negatives” into consideration and design simple, efficient and robust solutions to empower your organization with the outweighing benefits of global mobility. Any organization whose staff uses mobile technology, be they surveying a patch of desert or taking orders in a diner, could get things done a whole lot better with a custom-built mobile system from Koves technologies.
