Promoting health and fitness generally but their diet in particular, Diet Advanced aim to help people lose excess weight and become healthier and happier all round.
The client wanted a website building that was as promotional as it was informative, with positive messages, imagery and movement to give an image of vitality throughout every page. The purpose of the site is to sell the diet plan that combines self-help and self-motivation with the support of their health experts and other dieters, who could meet up online and discuss their issues and offer or listen to advice. Members will start by creating a profile that includes their own vitals statistics and the program will work out their personalized plan that included diet, grocery list, timetable, fitness plan and BMI calculator.

The Challenges Although the visual design and database work were relatively routine for us, the inner workings of the site required particular attention as this was to offer a completely interactive experience for users. Different customers would have their own profiles and, based on their individual measurements, weight, height, age and preferences, a personalized plan needed to be calculated which was safe and effective. Of course, we are not dieticians (in fact, computer programmers often occupy the opposite end of the fitness spectrum …) so the various formulae had to be carefully transcribed from the data given to us by the client and exhaustively tested. |

The Solution We created an HTML-based site with a Flash animation of the home page to portray the vibrant and active messages the client required. A secure members area made sure that only paying customers could access the commercially valuable area, but teasers and the offer of a free profile add a marketing edge to draw new customers in. The central database and calculations were created with utmost care to ensure nobody was given the wrong dietary advice and the whole community feel was enhanced with the support pages. |

The Results The client was very happy with the site and they now feel they have a secure and reliable platform from which to sell their diets, personalized to meet every customer’s needs. |
