Autoreps is an online car brokerage service whose website we built. Soon after completion they approaches us with another project, cheapcarsearch.com, another online resource but this time to search for vehicles that have been repossessed by police, customs etc. Such vehicles often sell for a fraction of their forecourt value as a quick sale is more cost effective than paying for storage and security.
We were asked by Autoreps to produce a self-contained website to highlight the seized vehicle purchasing service and to allow registered members to search for them in the official databases. The site had to be quick and clean but have a promotional feel to it.

The Challenges
The site was largely driven by the fast, accurate delivery of data from numerous sources, and this was the primary concern after the introduction page. Access to the main databases via this site had to be bought through a subscription and we implemented PayPal and Clickbank to handle this. Because a subscription is open-ended, rebilling and expiry were not issues.

The Solution
Koves created an HTML-based site with a small Flash animation on the front page and a simple menu across the top. The service is relatively self-explanatory, so the important thing here was to guide customers to the subscription page with the minimum of clicks so that they could start searching for vehicles in their locality. Once inside, customers can compare prices, makes and models and set up email alerts to notify them of the new availability of their desired vehicle.

The Results
Autoreps now has another profitable element to its motor business. The costs to the company were largely one-off, plus a small amount of maintenance, but the ongoing purchase of subscriptions by customers brings in a steady stream of income for very little physical effort, time, or cost.
