With the threat of viruses, spyware and adware infecting computers the world over, Anti-virus Advance offer a reliable and inexpensive solution.
The client had created their antivirus software, but needed a way of marketing and selling it online. They asked Koves to come up with a solution that included a free online virus scan with no strings attached in the hope that a percentage of users would purchase the full version that is installed on the computer. They also needed us to create the shop front and allow online processing of credit/debit cards and electronic checks to take payments.

The Challenges
The main challenge would be surrounding the integration of another company’s software into an online application that is nested within a Flash and HTML base, along with the security required for e-commerce.

The Solution
Koves designed an HTML and Flash site full of positive and reassuring imagery, ensuring that the full SEO was included at every step. Users were offered a free online virus check which would hopefully lead to sales and increase the profile of the client; the main sales premise is that the online scan can only check for viruses already on the user’s computer whereas the downloadable, paid-for software would remove them, a far safer option. We integrated the online check so that users had to submit an email address to better assist in Anti-virus Advance’s post-check marketing. Online purchase of the full version was facilitated by integrating Clickbank affiliate marketing and affiliate fulfillment system. We also produced a CRM and live chat to better serve customers seeking assistance, sales advice or renewals.

The Results
The website is a successful means of promoting the software with the free virus check providing a literally priceless incentive to potential customers. If a virus is detected, it is very likely that they will go on to purchase the full software; and if they don’t already have ant-virus software or have an expired one, it is more likely that the computer will be infected.
